About

Before he became a director, Kang Li was an award-winning photojournalist who shot assignments for several international publications including The New York Times, Time magazine, Der Spiegel and National Geographic. After graduating top of his class in college, he switched paths - from stills to videos - and went on to write and direct spots for both local and regional markets.

When approaching any project, no matter which style or genre, the most important thing is to find the story and ask these 2 questions: Does it entertain? Will it enlighten? If it does both, it will achieve what is the most important purpose of any work, that is, to make a human connection.

He continues to write and photograph personal projects, through which he seeks the truly mundane and deeply human. And the randomly absurd.
